The Waiting Game
I've written about my troubled relationship with Baltimore Gas & Electric before. Basically they charged me an exorbitant deposit, told me that amount was the average monthly bill, which prompted me to do my best to not use their product.
Actually, you can read all about it here and over here.
Well since I'd paid my bill, on time, for twelve months in a row, I decided to call BGE and find out what the deal with my deposit was.

Remembering - Blaze
As the 20th Century came to a close magazine stands were literally littered with magazines devoted to Hip-Hop. Obviously The Source and XXL were around, but so were Vibe, Rap Pages, ego trip, Rap Sheet.
Man, how times have changed.
But my favorite Hip-Hop magazine from that era was Blaze, and eleven years ago this month, it's final issue came out.

Monday Munchies - Takis Fuego
As I've mentioned on numerous occasions, I hail from Tucson Arizona. It's where I was born, it's where I was raised, it's where my heart will always belong to.
As such my comfort foods run decidedly "south of the border." Tacos are my hotdogs, enchiladas are my hamburgers and tamales are my favorite thing in the entire world. I prefer homemade tortillas to homemade cornbread and saladitos to Jolly Ranchers.
So when I first heard about Takis, I was greatly intrigued.

Dolphins Are Jerks
I don't like dolphins, never have. I think they're smug, they think they're so smart and they're just all around pricks. If the ocean were an 80's movie, dolphins would be the preppy jerks.
I've watched touchy-feely documentaries like The Cove and for years I've had to tolerate people and their irrational dolphin love. It seems like every third person claims that dolphins are their favorite animals and it makes me want to vomit with anger.
But finally I've got some evidence.

Revisiting Resolutions
So, roughly half a year ago, I shared with y'all what my resolutions for the new year were. I mean, I feel that we've got a pretty tight bond, so I'm comfortable opening up with you.
And that's why I've decided to revisit my resolutions; so that we can all the progress I've made in becoming a better person.
Ugh; I'm totally not ready for this degree of self-examination.

Remembering - Clarence Clemons
This weekend Clarence Clemons passed away due to complications from a stroke he'd suffered earlier in the month. He was 69 years old.
Best known for being a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, but he had a solo career and even did some acting.
Today on Fish & Spaghetti we examine his impact.

Most Racist Commercial Ever?
I'm sure that everyone has seen this commercial by now, but I'm appalled that it's still on the air.
That's right; because it's racist.
Allow me to explain.

The Longest Month Ever!
I love Breaking Bad. It's my favorite show on television. It's one of those shows where I can't tolerate any disruption while I'm watching it.
Like seriously, I'm shut off from the world when it's on.
So when AMC finally announced that Breaking Bad would be returning to the the airwaves on 7/17/11 I was pretty excited. But that excitement soon turned to dread.

Vinyl Fantasy
So I spent this past weekend hanging out with The Fam. A fun time was had by all. Naturally we got to talking about music and had a really cool discussion.
But what I learned is that one of my younger cousins is way into vinyl and he's sort of got me considering buying stuff on vinyl. It's really funny because there was a point in time when he couldn't care less about music.
The point is, I'm trying to decide if I'm going to jump into vinyl or not.

The Vault - What I Want to See Live
(Welcome To The Vault, where we at F&S give you a glimpse at stuff that never made the cut for whatever reason. Maybe it was crap and we knew it. Maybe the timing felt off. Maybe Chet forgot to schedule it and by the time we noticed it was no longer relevant. Who knows. The point it you get a chance to see "what could have been."
Also we get content for the blog without having to make any effort.)

The Vault - Five Things I Learned (About White People) From a Marathon Viewing of Oscar Nominated Films
(Ok, so this would've been on the blog on Monday February 28th, but since the Oscars were the 27th it felt anticlimactic. Even more so because I'd had a flurry of Oscar posts before the actual show.
But here it is now. Enjoy.)

Monday Munchies - Vosges Barcelona Bar
I never really got into chocolate. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm Tucsonan born and raised. I've been out and about in 117 degrees. I know how to handle the heat.
(Better than the Dallas Mavericks. HEY-O!)
I'm 99% sure that I've got a memory buried in my mind involving chocolate I wanted to save for later, my pocket and a resulting mess. So chocolate was never my sweet of choice.
But last year my cousin introduced me to the Barcelona Bar from Vosges.

Why I Dig Fallon
I feel like crap. My allergies are killing me and my allergies never act up. But I've been dying all day. As such I don't really feel much like writing tonight. I'm sorry, I'm just not feeling it.
But I did watch this inspired bit on Jimmy Fallon last night. I know it was a repeat, but I saw it when it originally aired too. I told Jay1 about it. And now I want to share it with you. Sometime Fallon's bits are hit and miss, but this one was so ballsy and out there that it slayed me.
Thus I give you all you're going to get today. Catch you next week.

My Troubled Relationship With Weezer
You know that point when you sort of mentally check out of a relationship. That moment you realized that, at least from your perspective, the relationship is over and you're going to stop investing in it?
Well, I'm trying to pinpoint that moment when it comes to me and Weezer; when did I stop being a fan of the music that they produce and become someone who reluctantly buys their album desperately hoping to hear something that harkens back to their first two albums?

Recommended Movie Marathon
I'm a pretty picky guy and I've got particular taste. I'm also a jerk who thinks he's better than everyone else. As such, I don't take recommendations all that often.
Honestly, most people suck. It's the reason why Jersey Shore kills Breaking Bad in terms of ratings. It's the reason people rave about Sons of Anarchy while Terriers gets cancelled.
But the other day I decided to watch five movies based on recommendations from others. I mean I had the day off and they were on Netflix. What's the worst that could happen?
Oh, admit it; you're curious what happened.
