Wild Pitch Wednesday – Death Wish: The Video Game

I haven’t cared about video game in quite some time.  I’m pretty sure that my interest in video games began to decline when a) cartridges were phased out for discs and b) when my younger cousins got good enough to beat me.  Regardless of how they’re marketed, video games are a young man’s game.

But there are a few things that get me excited about video game.  I’m a sucker for a new Zelda game and I’m always willing to try a new Mario game.  And of course I loved the video game adaptations of both The Warriors and The Godfather.

Of course my dream video game would be Death Wish.

You  Know Why Death Wish 4: The Crackdown is Dynamite?

All this talk about the death of Osama Bin Laden has gotten everyone at One Fish & Spaghetti Plaza thinking about the nature of revenge and the justification of the use of lethal force.

Naturally the conversation turned immediately to one Paul Kersey.

By this point we at Fish & Spaghetti shouldn't have to continue telling telling you why the Death Wish franchise is easily one of Hollywood's greatest and most enduring franchises.  The proof should be in the pudding.

Let's jump right in, shall we?

Charm City Sushi?

Every day as I'm leaving work and walking by the harbor to catch the #19 I see a sight that never ceases to amaze, startle and sicken me. That sight?

It's people fishing. In the Inner Harbor.

Let me reiterate; people are trying to catch fish that are living in the Inner Harbor.

I'll continue after you rinse that after-puke taste from your mouth.

You Know Why Death Wish 3 Slays Me?

That's right, it's a slow blog week at Stately Fish & Spaghetti Manor, so we decided to dust off some older bits. And by "we decided to dust off some older bits" what I mean is "I arbitrarily opted to perform CPR on our lagging love for the Death Wish franchise."

Admit it; even you didn't see this one coming.

You Know Why Death Wish II is Pretty Awesome?

The love that Fish & Spaghetti has for the most tragic moments of Paul Kersey's life is pretty well documented. So it should come as no surprise that I've also got love for Death Wish II where things go horribly astray. Again.

You Know Why Else Death Wish is Great?

I've got to admit that I've got my own love for the film.

Now, I'm a relatively recent convert to the Death Wish fan club. I happened to catch the entire series in the span of a few days on cable awhile back. But from the first one, I was hooked.

You know why "Death Wish" Is Great?

Because it looks real. Actually, hold on a second,

I was going to do a "So I Was Watching The Super Bowl And A Few Things Occured To Me..." type of post on Sunday night or some time on Monday but I got busy and now the Super Bowl in general is completely moot, so i'm gonna pass on that idea.
