Monday Munchies – Ben & Jerry’s Coffee, Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz

Coffee is one of those harsh flavors.  It usually lacks any type of subtlety and it tends to overpower anything that’s pared up with it.  It’s a tricky flavor and generally either you like it or you don’t.

It took me awhile to appreciate coffee as a flavor.  As a kid, I couldn’t wait to try it and was always disappointed.  As an adult I’m a fan of coffee ice cream, but not the beverage.  And I’ve usually got to be in the mood for it.

And when I saw Coffee, Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz, I got in the mood.

Sunday Morning Quarterback – Melissa McCarthy & Phoenix

Saturday Night Live has been pretty dismal as of late.  The last time Melissa McCarthy hosted it felt like a gimme episode.  The writers didn’t need to work because Melissa could carry anything, especially with Kristen Wiig still on the cast.

But right about now the SNL could use a gimme episode.  I’m looking forward to this episode, mainly because I could use a laugh.

Let’s go!

Sunday Morning Quarterback – Justin Timberlake

Saturday Night Live has been a disappointment, pretty much for all of 2013 so far.  As a long time fan, it’s been challenging to watch.  And what’s really weird is that the 2012 half of the season was pretty solid.  Same cast and writers, different outcome.

But here comes Sir Justin Timberlake to save things.  He’s always funny and he’s one of those hosts that’s talented enough to be a cast member.  And he always brings his “A” game.

Clearly I’m setting myself up for disappointment.

Sunday Morning Quarterback – Kevin Hart & Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Kevin Hart is arguably the hottest comic out.  He’s got a huge show on BET, a couple of successful movies under his belt, so obviously his next step is hosting Saturday Night Live.

Given SNL’s recent history of clunkers, I was worried going into the episode.  Plus would the writers be able to incorporate a Black comic into the show?  I’m cautiously optimistic.

Sunday Morning Quarterback - Christoph Waltz & Alabama Shakes

I really didn’t know what to expect from tonight’s Saturday Night Live.  One one hand sometimes actors who aren’t generally known for comedy really relish flexing new muscles.  That could very well be the case for Christoph Waltz.

On the other hand the three other hosts on SNL in 2013 have been Jennifer Lawrence, Adam Levine and Justin Bieber.  Those were dismal episodes.

Why should anyone believe this week would be any different?

Sunday Morning Quarterback – Justin Bieber

I love Saturday Night Live.  It’s one of the few institutions that I actually believe in.  That’s why the first two episodes of SNL this year have hurt me so.  They’ve been beyond underwhelming; they’ve been flat out bad.

It’s unfortunate that so much is resting on Justin Bieber’s young shoulders.  But that’s where we are. Justin wants to do double duty, he’s got to be able to carry the load.

Honestly, he can’t be worse than Adam Levine, right?  Right?!

Sunday Morning Quarterback – Adam Levine & Kendrick Lamar

So, last week’s episode of Saturday Night Live was extremely flawed.  But you know what I’m willing to chalk that up being rusty.  Everyone had a month off for the holidays they were out of their rhythm.

Plus this week they should be excited.  As I pointed out, about two months back, Adam Levine was being groomed to host the show.  Wouldn’t that invigorate the staff?  Obviously he was qualified to host right?

SNL wouldn’t have two clunkers in a row, would it?
