The BET Awards were on, and I watched them...
So The BET awards happened and I watched it for you. Not because I wanted to, but because I like to engage in dangerous and stupid endurance challenges every now and then.
Skip Serpico – Massage Therapist?
So today I took a look at the man in the mirror and decided that I was going to make a change. I'm going to become a massage therapist. Or masseuse. Ok, so I technically haven't "decided" yet, but I'm 90% sure that it's a notion that I'm at least partially interested in entertaining.
Y'see it all stems from these harsh economic times. I was looking for some off the books type of employment. Actually I was just pondering off the books type of employment and I considered becoming a skim-masseuse. I mean, I've got no formal training, but the hands that I'm using to type this very sentence are like gifts from Zeus himself.

Michael Jackson Overload...
We flipped a coin.
On one side we were going to completely ignore this Michael Jackson thing and continue blogging as usual, on the other side we would completely overdose on Michael Jackson and have every post for the rest of the month somehow refer to him.
Friday Face Off: Brown Mike vs. Lite Mike
In honor of the memory of Michael Jackson, we here at Fish And Spaghetti thought that it would be fitting to dedicate the friday face off to him.
But who would we have him face off against? We thought about Prince, and James Brown and some others, but really, who can compare to Michael Jackson?
Nobody...except himself!
That's right, it's "Lite Mike" vs. "Dark Mike".
Shamone!

TV Gods, I Beseech Thee!
I really don't understand how the universe works. I mean, I try to do good as best I can. I try to do my part for the Earth by recycling. I tolerate indignities on a near daily basis without responding in kind. I even do my best to treat people with the degree of respect that feel I'm entitled to. I think I'm a pretty decent human being.
This is why I can't fathom why both Parker Lewis Can't Lose and The State are being released on dvd within the next 30 days. I don't get what I've done to offend the TV gods.

Friday Face-Off - Nancy Botwin vs Walter White
We here at Fish and Spaghetti are huge fans of the entrepreneurial spirit of America. We love the drive that causes people to go the extra mile for the extra buck. We love hustle and we completely respect those who get their grind on.
That's right; we think that drug dealers are about as American as apple pie.

Twitter Tuesday: "Twinterview" With Orange Oscar
So I noticed on twitter that there was a personality on there named Orange Oscar.
I figured he would be a cool person to "Twinterview".

"Thank God For Teachers..."
Seriously, thank God for them.

Skip Serpico Sez - Family Guy Sucks Balls
Last week while visiting Stately Fish & Spaghetti Manor, I had to endure yet another of Jay1's attempts to convince me that Family Guy is funny. It's like clockwork. Jay1's going to say "just peep this" and I'm going to shake my head, roll my eyes and try to go to my happy place.
To be fair, I used to like The Family Guy. When it debuted I was one of it's more ardent supporters. It took one of the aspects that I really enjoyed about The Simpsons, the random cutaways with no consequence to the plot, and made them an integral part of the show. It was funny. At first.

Jay Z: Death Of Autotune
I was trying to post this over the weekend when everyone else on earth was also posting it, but my computer was acting like an asshole and I could barely log on to the internet.

Friday Face Off: Jim vs. Jenny vs. Jamie...
Ah, "In Living Color".
One of the funniest shows of the last 20 years. It's respected for being creative, courageous, innovative and a breeding ground for future superstars.
We're going to take a look at three of the biggest stars of that show, Jennifer Lopez, Jamie foxx and Jim Carey. We're going to examine their careers (the highs and lows) to see if we can determine who is the best of the "In Living Color" alumni.
What's that smell? Oh, never mind. It's the Friday Face Off...

Review - Nurse Jackie
Via the miracle of iTunes I got a chance to watch the first episode of Nurse Jackie a week early. I've got to admit that I'm impressed. It was a very strong debut.
Nurse Jackie stars Edie Falco as the title character, a NYC ER nurse. On paper Jackie seems like the standard New York archetype; headstrong, vocal and world-weary. But the she's infused with enough nuance and faults to transcend stereotype and become an intriguing dichotomy...
